I have read many complaints that the Kindle DX is quite heavy. I find this durable, well-made cover to be a great help with this. When I am sitting, I can have the cover of this jacket either perpendicular or angled and resting on my knee. This makes the Kindle almost weightless. I really like that it will stand on a counter or table, too.
The pros: The cover is well made and the Kindle2 is secure in it.The stiching is even and the leather is of good quality.The inside is grey and the little pockets are well made.
Great little cover for my DX. It has a thin slot in the pack so you can tuck some papers in and a small zippered compartment up front. I am reluctant to put anything in the front compartment out of fear that if something presses on it that it might push through the soft screen protector and damage the unit. If I can find a thin hard piece of plastic or aluminum, I'll put it in the front pocket to add protection to the screen.
when i first saw this cover i really hated the idea of the 'steno-pad'-type configuration. but after thinking about it for several days, i ended up ordering the platform cover for two reasons.

this is like a big vinyl sticker, so be sure you align everything up before you stick it on, or you may have a hard time removing and re-applying. I didn't have any trouble when I applied it to my Sony PRS-505, but I would imagine trying to remove it may stretch out the material some.

My Austen (frog print) Bobarra cover is a charming, well-made and cute-as-can-be accessory for my Kindle 2. The outside fabric is a dense, woven print of little frogs and (maybe)ladybugs and is of a weight sufficient to protect your Kindle in its travels through the world. It is well padded with memory foam and closes snugly with a magnetic snap. The inside is covered with a soft, dark brown suede-like cloth, which has two trim pockets for whatever. The pockets are definitely NOT obtrusive in any way but you could tuck a small something in them (like a DL or CC) in case you wanted to go out for a coffee and read while sipping! The Kindle is held securely in place with four identical elastic bands that do not cover any buttons or ports, and the left side folds back easily for reading like a paperback. The cover also comes with a slip case to protect it in a backpack or purse. An important thing to know about Bobarra is the excellent customer service provided by the designer and maker of these lovely covers. I got my cover within two days and didn't pay extra for expedited shipping! Plus, I've had a couple of very nice emails from her. If you ever had a problem with your cover (which I would seriously doubt), I think she would go above and beyond to fix it. She also has several other very nice cover designs on her website if frogs and ladybugs aren't to your taste. Highly recommended.

Different Kindle DX owners have different needs. I wanted a protective casing that wasn't attached to it, since I like reading it unprotected and didn't want to go through the hassle of taking the cover off every time. At the same time I wanted something easy to get it in and out of. Last but not least, though I love my Kindle dearly, I was looking for a case that wouldn't break the bank.:)
Just received this cover today (in purple, but same model), about 3 weeks after ordering from Amazon. Granted, it was ordered before the product was even complete so I was ok with the wait.It is very similar in look and feel to a Dooney and Bourke pocketbook if you are familiar with them. It has a great leather smell, just like a new purse. And the additional room on the binder side (meant for the e-Luminator light - sold separately) gives you a nice place to hold the cover with the Kindle attached. 
I have been looking for a good bag to carry my K1.I saw this one, and liked the look.The one drawback for me was that the product description said the fleece inner pocket would hold the K1 or K2 WITHOUT THE COVER.My K1 only comes out of the cover if I have to do a re-set or battery change.No way would I take it anywhere naked!I sent M-Edge an e-mail, asking if K1 inside its lovely M-Edge cover would fit in the center compartment.
The cover, when open, folds back around itself like a paperback book. The inside that closes on the Kindle screen is extremely soft and thick... wouldn't want a scratch. The M-edge light fits in a special back pocket and its extremely comfortable when reading in bed.Lightweight and a good price point too.
I take my kindle everywhere.So I'm often at my local diner eating dinner while I read.The servers all recognize me and my kindle.So I was thrilled when someon came up with an idea for a covering to keep the kindle clean while I am out and about.My only problem is the plastic is a bid shiny and there is glare.It also does not lay perfectly flat so it's a bit warped.I like the double zipper so I can reach in and turn it off or snooze it.Or plug in the power cord.I'm even glad the new design to the Kindle2 allows you to place the kindle face down so as to protect the screen while its in your purse or bag.All in all it's a must have for any Kindle2 owner.And the colors are great!My Kindle1 version of a similar product only came in black.
i admit i misread about this one, i thought it was for the kindle i bought and never noticed the dx. but i liked the fact it has compartments on the opposite side the kindle would go.
I've had this case for two days and the Kindle 2 doesn't fit! After inserting the Kindle 2 into this case it is almost impossible to zip the zippers past both corners. I was going to give the case the benefit of the doubt thinking it just needed to loosen up, but now I see both corners are ripping where the zipper was tough to zip over! I'm returning for another brand of case ASAP.
Great quality, and works like a charm.This was not reviewed when I bought it, but I was most pleased with the product, and it works exactly as stated to read from upright on a table.Just open it to a stable position that gives me appropriate angle.Needless to say that is for table-top use, not the lap.
I ordered this reluctantly because there were no reviews on the product.It looked beautiful on the screen and it was beautiful when it arrived.It has a great feature whereby you pull the tab at the top and it pulls the item inside the pocket out of the slip so that you don't have to be trying to fiddle and pull it out with your hands.However, there is one major, misleading problem with this item.The description says it is padded and offers good protection for your Kindle.I does NOT.It is not padded at all.It is just the leather with no padding on the inside.I contacted the seller for a refund and they said they could not give me a full refund because part of what I paid went to shipping.I found this to be a bit dishonest since when you order it, it says shipping is free.However, they were prompt in contacting me and they were polite.
Beautiful color.I love the fact hat it stands up while you read, so you can eat and read at the same time.The inside pocket is a great place to stash the user guide.
I'll start by saying how impressed I was with the craftsmanship on this Kindle cover. The leather is top quality, the construction and stitching flawless. The special hinges fit the Kindle2 perfectly, and the little corner straps work well and don't block any controls. The suede-cloth lining is soft and protective and the pockets are handy and flat.

I originally wrote a review giving this jacket three stars. But, after using the jacket at the beach, I believe my review was unfairly low and I deleted it.
I bought this and it works great! All the buttons, and plugs are easily accessible. I mostly like it because. The Kindle DX stands up by it's self. I often lay in bed while reading. I put a small pillow on my stomach. The Kindle stands by it's self on top. I just tap the page turning button. I can read for hours with it. I would highly recommend, a cover that folds in this direction. Over a more traditional design. ( Then, sideways ) It's way easier to angle the screen, to your desired angle for reading!I have purchased 3 diff protective covers from Amazon. For diff reasons. Outside/ backpack travel/ while reading. If I could only buy one? This would be it! My FAVORITE , by far overall!!!WORKS GREAT!Very versatile....MY FAV.....
I have owned this cover for several months and I love it.You can fold it back and hold it, or use it as a stand for hands free reading.It adds a little heft to the Kindle, but not so much that it's too heavy. I feels more like you're reading an actual book.The leather is good quality and it does a good job with protection.
After reading the other reviews, I ordered this jacket a few days ago and it arrived earlier than estimated. Ilove everything about it.It's beautiful and functional. A perfect pink.Leather feels good and smells just the right amount of leather - not overwhelming, but reassuring that it is quality leather.
This case is way too big for the Kindle 2. Even when you put in the light it is still floppy and ill fitting. For $59 this is probably my worst Amazon purchase! My brother got the cheaper plain black leather case for $19 and it fits like a charm! Instead of looking pretty the case just looks plain ridiculous! I'd send it back for a refund but given that I live in Australia it's hardly worth the trouble. I would definitely not recommend this cover.
This product looks really shoddy. It says it's leather but it's got this plastic stuff around the edges. The inside of it feels like some kind of rubber. I am really happy I didn't pay full price because I would have sent it back. It is not worth the listed price.
I just received my marbled red platform cover and am SO pleased with it! After all the strange reviews on amazon, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had talked to a very nice CS person at M-edge, which was reassuring, and she had told me about the 60-day return policy so I figured if worse came to worst, I could return it. The cover (finally) came today, and it's just beautiful, the leather is sumptuous, the red color divine, it fits the Kindle 2 perfectly, it stands it up for reading just fine, all the buttons and ports are readily accessible, and it smells like brand-new leather. The Kindle 2 seems very secure in the four holders, two of which are leather only (the two bottom ones) and two of which are leather and elastic (the two top ones that allow you to insert the Kindle), and it doesn't move or shift around at all.What more could you ask? (Maybe overnight delivery, but what the heck... it was worth the wait.) The cover is quite lightweight and nonbulky even though there is a pocket inside for whateveryou might want to put there. The tab to hold the cover closed works well and holds the platform stable when you stand it up to read. I also have an Oberon Design (oberondesign.com) cover that is very beautiful but is quite a bit more bulky. This M-edge one is a good deal more sleek and will take up less space in a purse or briefcase. The inside lining is soft, light grey suede and will protect the screen nicely. All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase and recommend it highly. I think it's a great value for the price.
The Kindle DX has a huge screen compared to the first 2 generations of Kindles. I suspected that with that big of a screen it might be more vulnerable to being damaged than its littler cousins. Before I tested that hypothesis for too long, I sent off for one of these jackets from M-Edge.
