Review of Amazon Kindle 2 / Kindle International CaseCrown Double Memory Foam Case

I love this case. It is very slim and weighs about 5 oz. The cover is dark-brown nylon and will provide good protection in backpacks and purses

It holds the Kindle securely with clear plastic straps on the bottom corners and black elastic straps on the top corners.

It is padded with memory foam but it is not too thick.

You can unzip and fold it completely back which gives you a more comfortable, thicker grip. (I find the Kindle2 is a little too thin to hold in my hands for long periods of time.)

The zipper is a little tight at the corners. I figure this will improve with time.

There is an inside pocket, but I don't see carrying the cord and plug as displayed in the photos because there would be a big bulge and it would be difficult to zip it closed.

The only design flaw is that the top corner elastic band covers the power switch. You have to pull the elastic to the side to turn it on or off.

I like this better than the cases you completely remove because the Kindle stays attached--no fumbling with taking it out of the case, then keeping up with the case. This is important to me because the main place I use my Kindle is in the subway. I can pull it out of my purse, unzip, fold back and read.

I like using my Kindle "naked" and wanted a cover for use while traveling.Initially, this cover was a little tight, however, it "relaxed" and loosened up after a few uses.What really peeves me, though, is that the exterior neoprene got dirty very quickly, and I can't get it clean!!It looks terrible!Other than this issue, this cover works well and affords excellent protection when the Kindle is being carried in another bag (i.e., a carry-on, large purse, etc.).I am now shopping for another cover that will offer the same type of protection and can be cleaned easily!!

Review of M-Edge Executive Synthetic Leather Kindle DX Jacket (Fits 9.7" Display, Latest Generation Kindle DX), Smooth Black

I just got my M-Edge cover two days back, and am so far very happy. It looks like it'll protect my Kindle DX as well as my old M-Edge cover did my Kindle 1-- which is to say very well indeed, and against much abuse. But, the _best_ thing is how it's engineered to also work as a book stand! The Kindle might as well have been designed to be used with a book stand-- It's _perfect_ in this position, so much so that I rarely read without one except in bed. Having a book stand designed into the cover saves me from carrying around one more bit of impedimenta. I also like that it's designed to work with and easily stow a book light. (My M-Edge light is still on order, so I haven't been able to try this combo yet. But, it looks like a winner from the pictures.) And, at the sale price I paid, this cover was a good investment. Hard-core traditionalists may not be able to get past the fact that the cover opens vertically (like a legal pad) instead of horizontally. Me, I actively prefer this style, in part because the design is necessary to the book-stand function.

As an early Kindle adopter, when I reviewed the Kindle 1 I lamented the absence of a cover that would conveniently carry a light and also serve as a bookstand. I can only applaud M-Edge for coming up with this very nice design, perhaps in response to my own posting. While I can't judge the light yet, so far I'm rolling in clover.

I like taking my Kindle to the beach and this product works great for keeping sand/water out.It has several "safety" closures to make sure nothing is going to get in.It does make it difficult to turn it on, but that's no big deal when you compare it with the comfort of knowing your Kindle is protected.I don't have any glare or problem with the Kindle having space within the case - it doesn't make it more difficult to read. The long carry cord makes it nice when you're trying to carry your beach chair, cooler, etc. I'm very happy with this product.

This leather cover isn't "fine Corinthian leather" but it does the job to protect my Kindle2 without doing any of the hinge damage suggested by other models of covers. The Kindle fits snugly within the leather frame. After a while, you don't even notice it while you are reading. The outside cover texture is slightly matte, making it easy to hold securely. The inside is faux velvet. The stitching is close and even. The magnets keep the cover closed when the Kindle is not in use, and overall, the case does not add much to the size of the device at all. As promised, the cutouts provide ready access to all the buttons and plugs. And you can't beat the price. I'm very happy with my purchase. I only wish they had other colors besides black and red.

I have purchased a waterproof case for the K2 from TrendyDigital before. I liked its functionality and design. Now I have gotten a DX. I decided to get TrendyDigital's Waterproof case for my Kindle DX as well, and I'm very happy because I made the right decision. The case is very easy-to-use, and it definitely serves its purpose. To open the case, all you have to do is unbutton the two buttons at the top to reveal a double layer of secure seal, which you can then unseal.. When I put my Kindle DX inside the case, it fit very well. There is a little space at the blue border. It is useful if you want to put a small bag of moisture absorbance material. The blue border around the device adds a nice contrast I might add.


Once I sealed the Kindle into the case, I found that the buttons and the keyboard were easily accessible. The power switch cannot be accessed once the Kindle is sealed into its case, but this is expected seeing as it is a waterproof case after all. I had no difficulty opening the case to access the power button, so no complaints here. I might also add that I have taken my Kindle (in its waterproof case of course) to the beach several times now, and my Kindle DX has never gotten wet. The case is simple yet effective, and I would highly recommend buying it if you're like me and often use your Kindle for beach reading/bathtub reading.

Review of M-Edge Platform Genuine Leather Kindle DX Jacket (Fits 9.7" Display, Latest Generation Kindle DX), Smooth Mocha Brown

This is the first time I've purchased a cover for a Kindle other than Amazon's covers.When I opened the package the first thing I notice is the heft of the cover.It is solid.The next is the feel of the leather.It has a firm but cushioned feel that gave me the impression that I bought the right thing.

The coloration is very consistent throughout the cover and the fit and finish is great.The stitching, which is more of a saddle color for contrast, is tight and is placed well on the product.Other leather items I've purchased do not keep a consistent distance from edges.This product's stitches maintain their "line" even around the rounded corners.

The suede leather in the interior of the cover is soft and neutral toned (gray).I feel confident it will protect my investment.Also on the interior of the cover is a pen holder (very nice), a pocket for the M-Edge E-Luminator light (due to be sold sometime this summer), two pockets for business cards or whatever, and a large pocket for possibly storing papers (although a standard sheet of paper is too large).

The mounts for the Kindle are solid and non-obtrusive.They hold the Kindle solidly and about 3/8" away from the edge of the cover for protection.

The closure strap is very nice.It holds the case closed securely and then flips around backwards and inserts back into the same pocket to form the easel.I tested the "easel" operation and found it to be stable and it holds the Kindle at a good angle that limits reflection.While the cover was holding the Kindle in "easel mode" I was able to use the buttons and the 5 way controller comfortably and never felt like the Kindle would fall over.It felt very stable.

When holding as a book I prefer the platform (or top hinged) cover to the left hinged cover for the Kindle DX.The DX is a good deal wider than the original or latest Kindle and the standard fold feels too wide.I fold the top all the way over and tuck the strap below.The cover creates a comfortable platform to read that is not too wide and the cover adds twice to three times the thickness of the Kindle DX which is more comfortable to me.

Overall I really like this product.The fit, feel, function and amenities make this a product worth the price.

Review of M-Edge Prodigy Genuine Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Pebbled Mocha w/ Saddle

Just received this cover today (in purple, but same model), about 3 weeks after ordering from Amazon. Granted, it was ordered before the product was even complete so I was ok with the wait.It is very similar in look and feel to a Dooney and Bourke pocketbook if you are familiar with them. It has a great leather smell, just like a new purse. And the additional room on the binder side (meant for the e-Luminator light - sold separately) gives you a nice place to hold the cover with the Kindle attached.

I love the hinge system, one of the main reasons I bought it. Coming from the K1, the original case Amazon provided was functional but the Kindle always fell out. So when Amazon improved the hinge for the K2, I knew I would only buy a case that had that feature. One word of note, I initially did not "lock" the K2 in the new m-edge case correctly and it almost fell out when I shook it (over a sofa) to test the support. Luckily the two straps on the top right and bottom right held it from falling. Then I discovered I had not closed the hinge enough and made sure the top hinge was securely pushed upwards to "lock it". Installation instructions are not included with the case (weird) but are available from m-edge online. Amazon won't let me post the url, but if you go to the buymedge website you can view the installation intructions.

The look and feel of the case is very professional. I am very happy with this purchase and do not expect to be taking the Kindle out of it very often. The only little issue I have is that the tab is a bit too snug when it needs to be slid into the cover to close. A snap might have been a bit easier. Still not enough of a con to drop the rating. But the tab does tuck away easily so as not to interfere while reading, which is nice.

I know the description mentions "four-point mounting system to hold Kindle DX in place". Read between the lines: there is no hinge - just straps at the edges. I pre-ordered - it arrived today - it's beautiful (like the one for the Kindle 2) but the one for the small Kindle has the Amazon-type hinge, the one for DX has just the elastic straps.

That is weird - because the Kindle DX being heavier might need a tighter support. I'm very disappointed (but returning it will not recoup the shipping charges). M-edge goes thru continuous revision of their products. I ordered in the past a cover for the Kindle 1 that had a terrible closing strap. They redesigned it subsequently to a more effective one. Note to myself - never order first generation of products. I expect M-edge to adapt the Amazon hinge to this cover too in subsequent revisions so until then - stick with the Amazon cover for the DX. It's nice, magnetic closure etc. Same price, less shiny and less nice leather, but thinner and with a firm closure. Ah - and with a HINGE.

I have now bought three different M-edge Kindle 2 covers for myself and my friends, and I like them all, but I like this one the least.Depending on what you want, it might be the best for you: having a little compartment to store the charger cord in might be a wonderful thing for some people.For me, I was not satisfied with the way it interacted with the illuminator-2 light (the main reason to have an M-edge cover).I didn't like the way the light was on the outside of the case when the case was zipped up.I ended up puting it in the compartment for the charger, which meant there was a bit more overhead in terms of using the light than there was with the platform or the prodigy, which I like more.

This one is less expensive, though.

I say this case is good and looks great. This case fits the kindle 2.0 perfectly the cons are fits pefectly no room for extra stuff even though it has a inside pocket. Zipper is hard to pull around edges hopefully with time it loosen up. Another plus is you can lock zippers with a little lock. Review of M-Edge Prodigy Synthetic Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Smooth Mocha Brown

The "M-edge Prodigy Jacket" is a well made and good looking protective cover for the Kindle 2. Here are my observations:

Pros:
* The synthetic Leather is good looking and not "Pleatherish" at all
* The restraining strap on the cover works well
* Installing the Kindle 2 is quick and easy (see "Comments" for a link to the instructions on the M-Edge web page)
* Removing the Kindle 2 is also quick and easy
* Cover front folds back for one hand use (but see "Cons", below)
* Inside cover has pockets for business cards, etc
* All connectors and buttons are accessible

Cons:
* There is a lot of space between the Kindle 2 and the spine of the cover. I suspect this is to accommodate the M-Edge e-Luminator book light, shown in the picture, but NOT included. This extra space makes it a little harder for one hand use for those with small hands (not a problem for me).

Overall, this is good investment to protect your Kindle 2.

Review of TrendyDigital MaxGuard Leather Cover for Amazon Kindle 2, Black

I bought this case intrigued by the compartment design for securing the kindle, not like other covers and cases for K2 via 4 corner straps or corner straps in conjunction with hinge mechanism.I am quite pleased by how well the case was made.

Here are my reviews

1. The case feels fantastic. The black leather surface is quite smooth and soft.The closure is a snap button. The closure secures the unit well in closing state.

2. Once it is open up, you can slide the kindle 2 easily into its compartment.That is a big selling point for me.The kindle 2 sits tightly in this compartment.The thin internal leather frame covers the kindle 2 well, yet makes all the functionality accessible.The navigation button indicator is embossed in the leather, so you can easily know where to press. This seems to protect Kindle 2 maximally (true to its name, "MaxGuard"), yet maintaining Kindles 2 `s slim look.

3. The left side of the case has small pocket where I can keep some paper to write note while I read.

4. The jacket is surprisingly light. This is another big selling point for me. I have an Oberon cover. The Oberon looks great. However, the Oberon cover is a littler too bulky and heavy for me.So, the lightness in this jacket is another big plus.

5. I also use the grip band at the back of the case a lot.It helps me to keep the device firmly in my hand while I am reading. I also use the band to carry the unit around ( not in the way shown in the photo).

I only wish that they have more color choices.

Review of Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Light - Pink

I bought the pink one because it was cheaper by far, and I *think* it is less likely someone will steal the pink one.The light is excellent for my Kindle or any other book. I recently sat an overnight vigil for a friend in hospital, and was able to read very comfortably all night.Unsure how long the batteries will last, but being able to read in that dark room all night was priceless. No heat involved. Lightweight. I was reading with the one-lamp setting and it was fine; 2-lamp setting is almost two bright for me. Nicely focused light, too, fine for bed-reading.It'll be great on a plane.

My cover just arrived today.It's well constructed with even stitching and holds the Kindle firmly in place.The leather has a quality feel and smell.On the down side, I wouldn't want to use this cover to carry my Kindle inside my tote or purse for fear that the leather would be marked up or the Kindle might be damaged by something sliding in through the open sides.I do like the feel of this case for home use and think the platform will come in handy.I was also expecting a brighter green color.This shade of green is a little more like avocado.

I love this bag! perfect for toting my kindle (k2) and its charger and an extraneous case/cover as needed. I travel quite a bit and this is perfect and heavy enough that I don't worry about my kindle. Review of M-Edge Platform Synthetic Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Smooth Black

In decreasing order of importance to me:

I LOVE to read while I eat. Given my wife's and my disparate schedules, I often dine alone for breakfast and lunch. I can flip the cover over, tuck in the strap (optional), and it sets my Kindle 2 up on the table so perfectly, stable, at a nice angle for reading, and doesn't fall over when I push the Next Page and other buttons. It is like having someone hold a paperback for you while you read. Awesome. You can also turn it on its side in this configuration and read on your side in bed, but it isn't as stable that way as it is upright.

It holds the Kindle 2 securely. I haven't dropped it yet, but I doubt that the Kindle 2 would break free, certainly not until the faux leather case had absorbed the vast percentage of the impact.

It is thick enough to make one secure in the padding it provides for the Kindle 2, yet lightweight enough that I can use it anywhere. I thought it was heavy, but then I removed the Kindle 2 and found that the overwhelming majority of the weight I was feeling was the Kindle itself.

It looks good (although I will never understand the appeal of white stitching on dark "leather"), and it feels soft and supple.

I am a very very picky guy, and I can't think of much that I would change. About the only thing I can think of is that, instead of having about 1/2" leather margin left of the Kindle and almost no margin to the right, I would center the Kindle left-to-right with ~1/4" margins. That would make it easier, while holding it underneath, to reach around and press the Next Page buttons. As it is, the right button is easy but the left is nearly impossible. But, again, this is a minor nit.

I bought this for myself after receiving the KDX as a graduation gift. I chose this over the Amazon cover because of its inside compartments and its color.
Yes, the price is exorbitant, but it is well worth it for what you get. The leather feels great (inside and out) and I find myself rubbing it absent-mindedly while reading. The cover is firm, yet soft to the touch. And that new leather smell is wonderful! It does a great job of protecting my KDX while I'm reading, on the go, or while it is just lying around. It also fits nicely into my larger purses and bags.
I love this cover and recommend it to anyone with a KDX. Youcan't just leave something that expensive uncovered.

Tip: When going to the beach, slip your KDX into a Ziploc plastic bag. It does nothing to hamper your viewing of the text, and protects your KDX from the sand and wayward water droplets. It is still easy to use the controls when it is in the bag too.

I debated several weeks between the M-Edge Go Cover and the Amazon cover for my Kindle DX. I liked the non-intrusive look of the Amazon cover; however, the feedback has too many comments about cracking the device.

My initial concern with M-Edge Go Cover - I was afraid the elastic and pockets would be too loose or cheap looking. I can say that the cover has a rich feel to it. The bottom pockets and elastic straps hold the device snuggly in place, and of course, there is no concern about cracking the face of the DX.

Review of M-Edge Executive Genuine Leather Kindle DX Jacket (Fits 9.7" Display, Latest Generation Kindle DX), Smooth Black

I went with the M-Edge over the Amazon cover due to the thoughtfulness of a pen holder and a couple business card sized slots. For the same price as the Amazon cover, I saw this as a better buy. It even secures with a "latch" so, without much experience with the Amazon cover, this cover seems to offer more protection from the chance the flap opens unexpectedly. Shipping took just a couple days from M-Edge.

Upon opening the box, it sure didn't smell like genuine leather. The case has a very noticeable smell of what could be a leather sealant. However, it's possible that will extend the life-span of the materials which felt high grade. The most important material is the interior since it will be touching the gadget and it doesn't disappoint with its soft fiber. The Kindle is held in by four elastic bands which sit on the corners. The DX is reinforced without any wiggle room. The outside cover is a rugged leather. Sandwiched in-between the rugged leather and soft interior is a protective plate of an unknown material (probably plastic). The binding has a thin material lining that makes it a tad difficult to easily bend the cover fully back. I know this is so the binding isn't wobbly but I've yet to find the sweet spot where I can bend the cover all the way back.

Reading with the cover is OK. Like I said, bending the cover back isn't exactly easy but I hope this will improve with time. The "latch" is folded back and out of the way. Obviously it adds weight to what some consider an already heavy eReader. I don't feel that way but I've also been lugging around an hp TC1100 for an eReader for years. Overall, it doesn't impede reading which is make or break with covers.

I was able to affix a Verilux reading light to the top edge of the back (and front) cover. The Ventilux clip fit snug and didn't cause any unnecessary pressure to the elastic corner holders of the M-Edge case.

I got my KindleDX from the NYT offer that came with the NYT KDX cover.That cover was a bit bulky, and had the 'buckle' on the side which made it feel like it took up a lot of room (It looks very similar to the other ones by M-Edge that have the same 'buckle' look).I ordered this cover because I liked how my co-worker's cover fit her Kindle2: the cover folded back so she could read it like a book, wheras the NYTcover couldn't fold back, anything I was reading would have to be 'open book': i thought this 'fold back' approach would be better/more comfortable.Because there was no buckle, It was more sleek than the NYTcover and I wanted something in that didn't look quite so 'shiny'.

Some thoughts:
1- I suppose in my wanting it to be sleek, the protection it offers is sacrificed.On the smaller Kindle2 I hadn't noticed how flimsy the cover actually is; but because I consider the KindleDX heavier and more of a financial investment, I think they could have padded out the cover on this size a bit more.
2- there are no pockets on the inside cover.not everyone would care about this, but I did find it convenient for the 'just in case'.Otherwise I enjoy my KDX for the use of non-paper, but i think the pockets did add a little convenience factor on the NYT KDX cover.
3-the 'pebbled' look on this is great - i wish they made all the colors available in the 'pebbled' (and marbled) looks!The pebbled makes it look more like real leather, again, not so 'shiny'; it almost doesn't even look like a Kindle cover...it looks like a really nice agenda/planner.
4- How come the KindleDXs don't have any covers with the 'hinge mechanism'??? My co-worker has the K2, and her cover that looks like this one (with no buckle) from M-edge had the hinge-mechanism, but then I couldn't find one for KDX?Isn't the KDX heavier and larger, and theoretically, might need the strength of the hinges even more?

Overall I'm a little dissappointed with the cover.While it looks great -- I honestly just wish it had more padding/offered more support on the front flap for more screen protection while closed.If I'm putting it in my purse or in my bookbag amongst other heavy objects like other books I'd like to know that my KDXscreen is protected -- with this I'm not 100% sure that it is.I may end up trying to find something to add to the front to create more protection - I might have to create my own sleeve just for the front flap to add more padding & a stronger reinforcement.I'll have to figure something out...protection-wise this just doesn't cut it.

Review of M-Edge Prodigy Genuine Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Pebbled Fuchsia

Just received this cover today (in purple, but same model), about 3 weeks after ordering from Amazon. Granted, it was ordered before the product was even complete so I was ok with the wait.It is very similar in look and feel to a Dooney and Bourke pocketbook if you are familiar with them. It has a great leather smell, just like a new purse. And the additional room on the binder side (meant for the e-Luminator light - sold separately) gives you a nice place to hold the cover with the Kindle attached.

I love the hinge system, one of the main reasons I bought it. Coming from the K1, the original case Amazon provided was functional but the Kindle always fell out. So when Amazon improved the hinge for the K2, I knew I would only buy a case that had that feature. One word of note, I initially did not "lock" the K2 in the new m-edge case correctly and it almost fell out when I shook it (over a sofa) to test the support. Luckily the two straps on the top right and bottom right held it from falling. Then I discovered I had not closed the hinge enough and made sure the top hinge was securely pushed upwards to "lock it". Installation instructions are not included with the case (weird) but are available from m-edge online. Amazon won't let me post the url, but if you go to the buymedge website you can view the installation intructions.

The look and feel of the case is very professional. I am very happy with this purchase and do not expect to be taking the Kindle out of it very often. The only little issue I have is that the tab is a bit too snug when it needs to be slid into the cover to close. A snap might have been a bit easier. Still not enough of a con to drop the rating. But the tab does tuck away easily so as not to interfere while reading, which is nice.

I was surprised to see a low rating for this case. I like not having the sleeve type case because I'm not taking the unit in and out and risking damage in the process. Review of TrendyDigital MaxGuard Leather Cover for 2nd Generation Kindle, Purple Color

First of all, you may have noticed the title and description are in contrast.This is a synthetic material, and it took me forever to find it because of the labeling error.

This is so far the best non-leather Kindle cover I have found to date, and fits the needs of this subway commuter perfectly.That being said, there are several aesthetic defects on the cover.For example, in several places in the window surrounding the Kindle screen, the material sticks out slightly and is not a perfect rectangle.Additionally, the material has several dents in it, although this is not a huge problem since it will form temporary dents any time you hold it as would any soft material.

These do not detract from the functionality of the case, but when you're staring at an item for hours a day they do become irksome.

This cover looks very nice, but most importantly, it provides the protection I wanted for my KindleDx. I have a very active family, who toss their books, sports equipment etc. on the table, sofa, etc. without checking to see what they might be squishing!I carry the Kindle everywhere, to games, appointments, air travel etc. and I am less afraid that someone will place something on top of my Kindle or that I will drop it and damage it.The Kindle fits securely and the tab that keeps it closed can easily be tucked between the Kindle and back cover to keep it out of the way while reading.
The cover also enables me to prop the Kindle up and continue reading while eating lunch. It does make your Kindle a little more bulky & heavier, but I bought it for protection, so I am fine with that, and I can easily slide it out if I wish.

I LOVE this case for several reasons.

First, PRICE.
It's only $20 some dollars..and the entire case is made of Memory Foam!
I think it's a really good price.

Second, PROTECTION.
Like I said, the inside is ALL memory foam and it fits Kindle2 like a glove.
There are black elastic / clear bands around the corners and they hold Kindle2 securely. It will never fall off unless you really work at it.

Third, DESIGN.
Honestly, I wasn't really into its design..it was just plain black and so.
But as I use it, I really think it's the perfect design for Kindle.
Not at all bulky..Quiet slim so easy to carry it around.
I bought the one with a front pocket because I carry little accessories with it..it gives just about perfect space for them.
I think they have the one without a pocket.
It looks pretty slim and nice.

Anyway, I hope this review would be helpful for all.

Bottom Line: PERFECT CASE FOR KINDLE2. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Review of M-Edge Platform Genuine Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Pebbled Grey w/ Black

This cover meets my expectations for quality, appearance and utility for my Kindle 2.My criteria:Protect the device (especially when traveling), be able to use all of the functions without removing the device, mechanism for holding the device closedwhen not in use, cover folds out of way to maintain the Kindle profile when in use, and good quality material.

As with other M-edge product reviewers I found the quality of the external and "plush"internal leather to be in line with the price.This is a "hard case" in that the leather covers a hard core material, this gives more bulk but it provides the protection that I wanted.

I chose the top fold over the more conventional book type fold because I was concerned about the thickness of the leather in my left hand.This top fold is right for my small hands, the spine is only leather without the hard core and it does fold over completely (this is stiff at first but relaxes with use).
I can hold itcomfortably and use both left and right controls with no problem.

As for the "easel" feature that wasn't on my list of criteria:At first I thought it didn't work because the Kindle tipped forward too much as I was sitting at a table trying to read hands free.Since the top fold is flexible I manipulated the cover so that the back angle to the table was unequal (smaller) than the angle for the front portion that the device.Think in terms of leaning the top of the device back.

At first I tried it with the leather tab engaged but it was too hard to get the correct angle.The edge leather has enough friction to grip the table and not slide out when "turning" the page on most surfaces so I tried it without the leather tab and it worked fine.

Perhaps M-edge can realign the leather tabanchors so that they allow the front to tip back at a comfortable reading angle when the leather tab is used in the easel position. The easel works great to hold the device in my lap.

This set up turns out to be a great additional feature for me, as a business woman traveling and eating alone it is so much easier to read "hands free."

Of course the extra width of the cover seems counter intuitive to the greatstreamline profile of the Kindle 2.It fits fine in my professional briefcase and larger handbags.I'm looking for a smaller case (probably without the same degree of firmness) for everyday use that will fit more of my smaller handbags.

Four stars instead of five because although this cover meets all of my form and function criteria, if you buy this for the easel feature you do have to spend the time with the extra manipulation to get the right angle for hands free reading.
