I recently purchased this item (M-edge Prodigy Hinge Jacket for Kindle 2 Synthetic Leather in Royal Blue). It arrived 2.5 weeks before the estimated date!Color: Absolutely a beautiful royal blue. A little bit lighter than what appear in the pictures. The stitching is white and very neat.
Appearance: The cover is very smooth and the inside is very soft, which is good for Kindle's screen. The synthetic leather is good quality. There is a slot for the light, a couple of slots on the left panel (presumably for business cards) and a larger slot above them. There are no obstructions where the cover touches Kindle's screen.
Fit: The fit for the kindle is very snug. The hinge mechanism works wonderfully and the kindle is easy to put in and remove. It would even stay in place with just the hinge, but the straps on the right add in extra security. Although there is that space on the left (where the light can be installed--the white thing in the picture), it is very unobtrusive. In fact, to me it just seems like a binding on a big, old-fashioned book or journal. The strap sliding in for the "lock" is also very snug, which is good because it makes the kindle more secure for travel.
Reading: Although the cover adds some weight, it makes the whole contraption (cover+kindle) feel a lot more secure in my hand. It can either be held with two hands like a normal book, or the cover is flexible enough to be bent around back to hold with one hand. It is still easy to reach the buttons even if reading with just one hand.
I highly recommend this item and this color.
